
Today, GreatSchools announced the winners of their fifth-annual College Success Award, which recognizes and celebrates public high schools that excel at preparing students to enroll and succeed in college. We are pleased to share that Schley Middle High School has been selected as a winner!
We are one of only 1,742 public high schools in the nation (83 public schools in Georgia) to win this year's award, which is based on college preparation and postsecondary data shared by your state. The College Success Award recognizes public high schools that stand out in helping students enroll and succeed in college.

FCCLA members who plan to take the statesman test at the region meeting next Tuesday need to see Mrs. Driver today for a study guide.

SCMHS teachers participated in their monthly Professional Learning session on Tuesday. This month the focus was on targeted openings and closings of lessons and how to use that data to drive the daily instruction of students. Teachers will be conducting peer observations over the next two weeks to view the classrooms of their colleagues during the opening or closing of lessons.

Sixth grade students in Mrs. Crook's ELA class have been studying theme in literature recently. Today they worked on task cards and rotated in stations. Each card gave a story scenario and the students had to determine the theme of the story.





Students wore pink today in support of their classmate Morgan Belmont. We hope you have a speedy recovery Morgan!!!

Senior Night Reminder


The FFA Mums will not be delivered this week. They will be delivered to the high school greenhouse next Tuesday September the 20th for pick up.

Mrs. Robinson’s 7th grade World History class looked at artifacts from Saudi Arabia today in class. Items included money, coins, and jewelry.



It's Homecoming week!!!! Central-Talbotton comes to town on Friday night for a 7:30 kickoff. We look forward to seeing all Alumni here Friday.

Barring lightening, which does not seem to be in this rain system, the football game WILL be played and mini cheer camp WILL cheer. Eyes and detection devices will be to the skies, the safety of all players, cheerleaders and fans is our priority. See you there. Gates open at 6.

The Wildcats host Bleckley Co. tonight. Admission is $10. Mini Cheer Campers will perform PK-1st at 6:50 and 2nd-5th at halftime. Gates open at 6:00. If you bought presale wristbands or gofan tickets you can enter behind the concession stand. All others must go through the gate.
