Welcome to Schley County Middle High School Schley County Middle/High School has been in existence for 23 years. SCMHS has a proud history of excellence. It all started when the school bond for the building of the new Schley County Middle/High School was voted on and passed by the citizens of Schley County on November 3, 1998. Construction was started in October 1999 and was completed in July 2000. The first classes in the new Schley County Middle/High School were conducted in August 2000. The addition of the new wing was started in September 2005 and was finished in March 2006. Mr. Robert Johnson Hill, a former Schley Countian and retired UGA professor, was the major financial contributor/donor to the building of the new wing. The new wing is named in honor of Mr. Hill's parents, Mervin Johnson Hill and Morris Crawford Hill.
Schley County Middle/High School is proud to house approximately 655 students in the current 2023-2024 school year.
Schley County Schools will be known for committed stakeholders who nurture and inspire excellence in all facets of students' lives.
