Students,

Words cannot begin to express how my faculty, staff, and I feel at this time.  We truly hurt for each of you.  To my first senior class I am very sorry how this school year has taken this turn for you all.  Please know that our school district will do all we can to have a prom and a graduation ceremony for you.  To our spring sport athletes this is heartbreaking.  I spent many of my years in education in athletics and I cannot fathom what you all are going through.  Though the governor's order to close school means we will not return with each other this school year, this does not mean that we cannot find alternative ways to learn.  Our teachers are working this spring break to continue our distance learning efforts to provide you the best education possible.

We have to endure hardship.  It is in situations like these that people have a choice to accept the challenge or not. It is my hope that you all will accept the challenge. There is a quote from the movie "Rocky Balboa" that has stuck with me. Rocky tells his son, Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!” Each one of you are Wildcats. NOTHING can take that away from you not even this virus.  We will do all we can to prepare you for next school year.  We love our school, our community, and most of all each one of you.

"Everything you need is already inside."
