Good morning!  I hope everyone is healthy and staying safe!   We have been notified by the University System of Georgia that we can now accept dual enrollment students for Summer and Fall 2020 without test scores.

These requirements are for rising Juniors and Seniors. Rising Tenth graders will still need to meet the SAT/ACT requirements in order to receive the dual enrollment funding. Also, please keep in mind that under the new legislation, students will only be allowed 2 withdrawals so we want to make sure we admit and register students who you feel are ready for college-level work.

To register for classes through GSW, please email Cindy Hagerson, High School Counselor, at chagerson@schleyk12.org with the courses you are planning to register for. The deadline for registering for classes in April 8th.

In addition to submitting the GSW application for admission, students must meet the following requirements to be admitted without test scores:

§ Provide a transcript showing they are on-track for completing all high school graduation requirements and the USG’s Required High School Curriculum (RHSC);

§ Have at least a 3.0 High School Grade Point Average calculated on the RHSC courses completed; and,

§ Exempt placement in co-requisite Learning Support for both English and mathematics. Dual Enrollment applicants without test scores must meet both of the following to exempt placement in co-requisite Learning Support:

·       English: Two units of RHSC English must be successfully completed prior to the start of the Dual Enrollment term; and,

·       Math: High school Algebra II or the equivalent must be successfully completed prior to the start of the Dual Enrollment term.

 Please let me know if you have any questions. Don't forget the deadline to register is April 8th. Please email Cindy Hagerson at chagerson@schleyk12.org.
